The Communications division is an integral part of starship operations. We share information back and forth over the comm networks with Starfleet and Federation worlds. We maintain the integrity of the networks and work up new forms of communication through the ether of space.

Specialties from Linguistics to Computer cyphers, Encoding/Decoding to Translation of Ancient and/or Alien script, Computer System Mapping and occasional hacking are just a few more of the diverse functions we perform. Essential to the process of exploration of new worlds and new civilizations, Communications is there every step of the way

In The Real World...

The Communications Division is a division of personnel onboard who have an interest in the intricacies of communications and occaionally world politics. We marvel at the languages and idiosyncracies of the languages here on earth and keep an eye out for social and/or political issues that don't seem to filter out of the storngholds of government without a little jostling. Mostly, however, division members do they're part to keep the world informed of what we, as a group, are up to via Press Releases to local/regional news services and we keep an eye out for activities with a communications or socio-political theme. By no means is this however the entire scope of what we do.
