Just wanted to touch on the topic Todd has mentioned. The new Star Trek movie
comes out in just over a week. We have put a lot of time and energy in our recruitment op for the AMC theatres on Rt 1 in New Brunswick. We will have a
couple of tables, we have updated our table displays (Thanks, Alex). We have
a new powerpoint presentation (Thanks to Todd and all the other crew members
such as Brenda who submitted photos). We have a couple of transporter pads for
photo ops - the public can get a photo of themselves on the transporter pad.
And we will have membership packets for any who sign up at the movie theatre.
I believe Alex has put together some bonus materials for those signing up at the
movie theatre. Press releases have been sent. Things have been coming together.
If you hadn't signed up to help at the event, please contact Todd or myself.

We also have been contacted by one of the local newspapers for interviews. Various
members have set up appointments to chat with the reporter (Thanks to all who have
done so) also I have been contacted by a producer at ABC news who wants to chat about
Starfleet academy. Todd sent an email out to the yahoo group about this.

So this is getting real exciting and looks to be alot of fun. I hope to be chatting
more often.

The semester has been very long and is getting to me.
The students do not read anything and I've started
to begin some late training.

I have a note to speak up, I don't spend the day staring
out at them awaiting the next crises. First they like to
knock and the sign says not to knock or tap. Then they
do not like to talk to a voice, they must see me before
they tell me what they need. Which is strange since they
all seem to use a telephone.

So my experiment began with the late night sections. I put
in a cd from The Rogues. So they were forced to speak up or stand
at the door until I happen to walk by. Basically what would
happen is the TA would call me over - so it works a bit. The
experiment is on going. I've gone thru the soundtrack for "A Chorus Line" some Dr. Demento ("Star Trekkin'" and "Banned from
Argo") and currently listening to the Boogie Knights.

It's been way too long since I blogged.
Especially since I had to reset the password.
This time I recorded it in my password file
document; it is just getting too difficult to
remember the paypal one, the ebay one, the vanguard one
and on it goes.

I want to remind everyone that there is a
meeting Sunday, April 13th at the North Brunswick
Library, our new home since the Borders closed.

TCF is at the end of the month, so keep an eye
out on the Avenger list for updated info. We have a
garage sale fundraiser in May. Chiller is also in May.
Sciences is hosting a trip to Longwood Gardens and Communications
is looking into a trip to the Paley Media Center.

Our picnic is set for June 14th at Babbage Park. Joe
Horton will once again take over the cooking duties.

The region awards were posted, after the winners of some
of them got out. Avenger won Chapter of the Year and Support
Ship of the Year. Todd won as flag officer of the year.
The winners are forwarded into the 'Fleet awards and
winners will be announced at the IC in Ithaca, NY.

First, I want to remind everyone about our meeting, Sept 9, at borders in East Brunswick, NJ. Start time is 3pm and discussion
topic is gaming (I think).

This has been a week from hell. Back to work, had to scramble
to get everthing prepared for the first day of classes. Then
had a TA not show up and had to be TA for the day.
Wednesday several students got into a locked room, one would think
the absence of an instructor plus sign on door saying to go downstairs would work. My friend suggested to put note on blackboard to read sign on door. Thurs had someone drinking in the lab, then in the afternoon found out I'm not getting paid because paperwork hadn't gotten to payroll dept. Fri, ta didn't show up (different one but still deja vu all over again). Plus the
truck with the lab books was there at the same time as the ta
and shortly before the start of labs. That'll teach me to go over
to the other campus to make sure that paper work would be done
to get me an advance on the paycheck - plus pick up the rosters.

Hopefully I'll be rested and in a better mood on Sunday.

see ya then.

Finally updating the blog and found changes at blogger.
But I got everything working.

Just had our March meeting. April's meeting is pushed back a
week.

Upcoming events include the Museum of Moving Images at the end
of the month.

Making headway under Norm's direction for the charity auction in June.
We sent out item requests to a number of Trek actors AND info for
vendors to sign up.

We will be needing help running it and more will come in future posts.

Remember the newsletter deadline is the end of the month, so if
you have anything to contribute keep that in mind.

Lunacon is this weekend and Icon is the following. I'm just going
to hang about, since Chiller is next month in a new locale.

Even though it is Spring break of have lots to do, so take care until the

Happy New Year! It's been too long since I last blogged. I've made a resolution
to blog more often. Last month there was the Cookie Exchange down in Challenger
country. Our meeting/holiday party was at Norm's. The spirit of Christmas was
apparent from a singing tree lurking in the corner, to a clock that payed a different
Christmas carol on each hour. It was very festive. And of course there were several
options for New Year's Eve, the Challenger party or the Sovereign party.

We have one less activity this month, the January Chiller was cancelled. But the Geology
open house is still on, And I believe we are having a fiction workshop, also. Once I dig up
some notes from the last meeting (okay, I left them at work) I can be more detailed.

We had a bit of troubling news out of Kentucky, we heard that former member Ricky Bruckman
was in the hospital. But we were happy to hear that his tests came out negative.

That's all for now, take care.
