Evercrack, Ultima Online be damned. I'm not going near em. Can't.. won't. I found my MMORPG of choice, I've found my Digital Home... and they gave me my own swank apartment ta boot ;) I'm talking, of course, about Anarchy Online.

Two nights ago, I downloaded both Asheron's Call 2, and Anachy Online (AO) to my pc. I have, for the past year or so, been wanting desperately to play a MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) but haven't had the opportunity till a few nights back... and boy has this lived up to my expectations and then some.

Sure, everyone's had a stint of a few seconds on Ultima Online, and perhaps some other MMORPGS but when I tried them, I was headed up every time by Player Kill Theater... 10 seconds after sawning,I'd be toasted... hardly a fun thing. BUt Anarchy Online, isn't like that at all. They have Player Kill areas sure, but you don't start out in them. You start out in a carefully controlled non pvp (player vs player) environment that gives you breathing room... not that you need it, Its been 3 days now and I have YET to meet an unpleasant person in the game.

Of course, In the real world I have yet to meet anyone unpleasant either... that's because I haven't stepped one foot out of the apartment for three days! Yes, what they say is true... friends don't let friends MMORPG. Unless, of course, you are already in the game or you are fabulously rich or can control your online commitments that take you away from real world commitments... or if you're delusional enough to think... ah heck.. you know where this is going ;)

Hi, My Name Is Shaalis, And I Have A MMORPG Problem

Yes, you heard it. I have a MMORPG problem. ITs that I have 4 days left of a free trial before I got to pay and I have NO problem committing to that. I've got to get the money there of course which will be a much more circuitous method than initially imagined, but it will happen. It must... I'm a Level 6 Adventurer, with 200,000 creds to blow and a FANTASTIC wardrobe. I've made friends from Norway, to Georgia to well... I'm not sure where, but the point is, I'm addicted. I love it. Its like IRC but with Avatars and things you can thwomp ;) (If you've been wondering why you haven't seen me on IRC or getting anything else down in the last few days [except jobhunting!], well, now you know why )

Seriously. The place is just so much damn fun.

Below you'll see a few screen shots to illustrate the point, note how pretty the landscapes are, how cool the adverts are, and the fact that you can run into people like Ashleigh, Santaya, and more without much effort at all... and they all like to have fun! Okay, more from me about Louisville when I get out to the store in the morning.
