Post Shore Leave And Many Sleepless Nights Later...

Greetings Everyone!

As by now you've noticed, I finally got around to making some more changes here. Most notably of these are the splash page and the surroundign graphics of this particular page. I've been on a roll since Tony inspired the splash page this morning and it feels good to get some solid design and build time in... I missed it more than I realized.

Anyway, on to...

Shore Leave

Well Shore Leave this year really wasn't the bang for the buck I come to expect. I hate to say it, but it really wasn't much fun compared to what I remember. Well, the con itself anyway. I ended up having a room slated to myself though and that afforded two or three impromptu room parties and a commissioning party without inconveniencing anyone, so that was good!

It was great however to get together with old friends and current ones and catch up on all the things I missed, and I've missed a bit since I moved to Kentucky. All in all, that aspect of the con was absolutely fantastic and I wouldn't give it up for the world.

The Marriott Hunt Valley on the other hand, can go suck an egg. They've screwed up my bank account something fierce, and now they've put an extra 22$ charge on my account for a hitherto unknown reason, and that I just can't abide. So I've gotta do the back and forth with them and figure out just what the hell is going on in their offices there. I'd go into it in more detail, but most of it is in my blog to the right there (or below for you lo-rezzers ;).

Commisionings!

One nice thing that happened at Shore Leave this year though, was the commissioning of the U.S.S. HATHOR !!!! She's your 18th shuttle to leave and grow up into a full SFI chapter and I am as pleased as punch... and the best part for me is, I'm in command! W00t!

Seriously though, the easy part is behind us, and now the unity building begins. We've got a 13-14 member crew at the moment and an MSG on the way, and its a busy time for us here. We appreciate all the support our mothership (IE- YOU!) have given us over the past several months, and we hope to be working with you on some projects in the near future.

Other Things

Well the love life is in a weird sort of hiatus right now, with my new love having absotively zero time to spend in the realm of the living outside work. I feel really bad for her at the present time, but honestly I think I'm being way selfish in that, I'm not feeling bad for her per se, but really for me for being stricken without her so abruptly. Basically she's got a hectic schedule between work and school and I am really not sure where I factor in right now in her life. SO basically I'm going hormonal and out of my mind.

But I'm coping.

Hormones

Yes, still on estrogen. Yay, fun for me as I've just crossed that threshold where apparently logic can be seen but set aside way too easily in favour of emotional outbursts, anxiety attacks and all sorts of general emotionalness. I think I'm getting a better handle on it, but I've had my moments, and a few of them Deanna-level moments (Troi that is.... resulting in a 2hour extension to the SL drive... don't ask).

But, I really can't think of anything else to write right at the moment as a party looms up ahead in the near future that I have to get ready for, so I'm gonna end this now and pick up something more structured later.

Thanks for stopping by ;)
