Reporting From Sickbay:
Attention all hands, this is your Chief Medical Officer! Let me introduce myself. My name is Commander Annie Slonski and I've been the Avenger's CMO for approximately two years now. It's been a fun ship to serve aboard and luckily the injuries we experience are minor. And considering we've been in some major battles (of the water gun variety!), Sickbay has seen very little action.
I actually welcome this as it allows me to focus on my areas of interest. In general, my areas of interest focus on natural science. I'm something of an amateur marine biologist with my specialty being cetaceans (whales, dolphins & porpoises). It's mostly a hobby and I do write a fairly regular column for the Avenger News entitled, "Admiral, There Be Whales Here!" I enjoy writing this column because it allows me to expand my knowledge base and share interesting facts with my fellow crew members.
I also write about other things that spark my interest, depending upon what I may come across on tv or something I've read. No matter what, I always enjoy writing!
Recently, my department has recruited two new members, which I am very excited about. I will be introducing them to you all very soon. My new staff were recruited during the opening weekend of "Star Trek" at the AMC Lowe's Theater in New Brunswick. I'm looking forward to working with my staff on projects and brainstorming ideas. I do hope that they are as enthusiastic about Avenger as I am! If they are, then Medical will totally rock!
Until next time . . .
